Complaint Resolution & Discipline Policy
1. Complaint Submission Process

All complaints must be submitted within 48 hours of the incident using the following EBL Player Complaint Form.

Complaints are reviewed and assigned by the Player Relations Officer (PRO).
2. Complaint Severity Levels
Minor Issues
Examples:
-
Trash-talking
-
Minor rule disputes
-
Misunderstandings between players
Process:
-
Assigned by PRO: The PRO determines that the issue is minor and delegates resolution to the captains of the teams involved.

Captain Action: Captains meet with the involved players and attempt to resolve the issue, keeping things respectful and constructive.

Report Back: Captains report the outcome to the PRO.

If Unresolved: The PRO may escalate the issue to formal disciplinary status.
Moderate to Severe Issues
Examples:

Aggressive or threatening behaviour

Disrespect toward umpires
-
Repeated unsportsmanlike conduct

Discriminatory or abusive language
-
Physical altercations
Process:
-
Investigation: The PRO gathers statements from all involved parties.

Decision & Action:
-
First Offense: Written warning and/or 1-game suspension
-
Second Offense: 2-3 game suspension
-
Third Offense: Season removal
-

Immediate Suspension: Serious incidents (e.g. violence or hate speech) may lead to instant multi-game suspension or removal.
3. Disciplinary Guidelines
Infraction:

Minor misconduct

First Offense: Verbal warning by captain (under PRO guidance)

Second Offense: Written warning

Third Offense: 1-game suspension

Unsportsmanlike conduct

First Offense: Written warning
-
Second Offense: 1-2 game suspension

Third Offense: Season removal

Abusive or discriminatory language

First Offense: 1-game suspension
-
Second Offense: 2-3 game suspension

Third Offense: Season removal
-

Physical violence
-
First Offense: 3+ game suspension

Second Offense: Season removal
-
Third Offense: Permanent ban

4. Appeals Process
-
Suspended players may submit a written appeal to the PRO within 24 hours.
-
The league committee will respond within 72 hours.
-
One appeal per incident is allowed; the decision after appeal is final.
-
If a player is removed for the season there are no pro-rated refunds of their fees.
